OC Vision launches the new barcelonaworldrace.com website powered by Content Server boasting a raft of new functionality.
Launched at the same time as the Rolex Fastnet 2007 website (http://fastnet.rorc.org), the Barcelona World Race website has already attracted huge numbers of visitors as family and friends of competitors check on the status of their loved ones.
Available in four languages (English, French, Catalan and Spanish), directly out of a single Content Server instance - the site truly provides content for a wide potential audience.
With 2 hourly updates of boat metrics sent directly to the website via XML, the site generates dynamic graphs for users as well, leaderboard data on the fly and dynamic links to Google Lat/Long references. In addition to this, video conferences via boat skippers is beamed live back to Barcelona World Race HQ in East Cowes and then encoded directly to the website using BrightCove.com Media Integration.
Breaking News is updated using Content Servers E-Blogging facility, allowing Media staff to email updates directly to the system from their PDA or Blackberry.
