Jun18Doesn’t the picture frame look nice today.

Get Firefox

Big news yesterday! It’s that time again. A new web browser, free to download, available to all.
Yesterday saw the release of Firefox 3 - the new web browser from Mozilla. It looks nice, and on first impressions it seems to be fast, secure, and with some nice new features.

So what does that mean for you - the website owner. Well, it is a nice new tool for you, and maybe even your users if they are allowed to upgrade their browser. It probably loads your website quicker, and maybe even makes it look a little sharper. (On the other hand, your old site may look worse in FF3 and the forthcoming IE8, in which case speak to us about enhancing and future proofing your site!)
On the whole though, and despite the torrent of marketing for the latest Mozilla browser, it’s a nicer picture frame, but it is what’s inside the frame, the real content, that is still the most important part of your online marketing. A new browser won’t mean better responses, more signups, or even more sales.

That’s the clever bit - and that’s still up to you.

Jun04There’s smoke coming out of…

…. everything!

The best way to explain the just-passed month of May for OC Vision is BUSY!

Here’s our potted timeline of the key points that have made our servers, and our team smoke - thats a lot of burning brainpower.

Apr01Same place, different engine.

We’re pleased to have upgraded our own blog to the newley released Wordpress 2.5. There’s a great number of improvements, and so far (1 post!) it’s looking really good.

The biggest change with this new release is a complete overhaul of the user interface, with a great new design from Zeldman, Santa-Maria et al at Happy Cog Studios. It looks and feels great and I am sure will lead changes in site designs across the blog-o-verse (new word?)

Keep watching….. More blogs to upgrade!

Mar26A dinner worth going to…

Four Hour Work WeekNext week I have the opportunity not to be missed. A great chance came up to have dinner with Ryan Carson (co-founder of Carsonified) and Tim Ferris (Four Hour Work Week) in London.

This is a great opportunity, and an event not to be missed. Dinner with Ryan is great, he runs a nice company that produce great web apps and events. Tim Ferris is known around the world for his book ‘The Four Hour Work Week’ that opened the eyes of America, and in April is launched in the UK.

For sure I will be listening, learning, and hopefully contributing to a great evening!

Oct26Investing in the next edition…

Today we launch a new website for our in-house client, OC Events.
The Artemis Transat is the new official race website for the 2008 edition of ‘The Transat’ race, a gruelling singlehanded yacht race across the North Atlantic in May next year.

The race website: http://www.theartemistransat.com, launches with race news, videos, and reviews of the last event held in 2004.

We’ve been working hard on the branding and style for this race to combine the race brand, and the brand of the new sponsors ‘Artemis’.

Expect to see the event website grow with more information and content once entries officially open.
I shouldn’t need to add that all of this rich content is powered by our Content Server CMS!
