Kites…tugging tankers??

The world’s first commercial cargo ship partially powered by a giant kite is setting sail from Germany to Venezuela. The innovative designers of the MS Beluga Skysails state the computer-controlled kite, measuring 160sq m, could cut fuel consumption by as much as 20%.

They also hope the kite will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions, as it tugs the ship. Fuel burnt by ships accounts for 4% of global CO2 emissions – twice as much as the aviation industry produces.

Lets hope this new sustainable invention takes off!

Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.0 (Beta) includes the following new features….

Universal Binary
Runs natively on both Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macs.

Remote Desktop Protocol 6.0
Provides better compatibility with Windows Vista, improved security features, and many other improvements.

Multiple Sessions
Lets you connect to multiple Windows-based computers at the same time.

Improved User Experience
Provides a true Mac experience and improved usability.

Improved Customization Options
Lets you change application preferences, including keyboard shortcuts, while you are running a session. Changes take effect the next time that you connect.

PC World… a Fine, Solid Computer Supplier!

Wandering around the local PC World a while ago, looking for some stationery bits, I noticed the wall of screens on the far side, advertising all the ‘latest’ software and gadgets….

As I got closer, it was obvious that all wasn’t well……

Why, oh Why did someone not just sort that out the minute (no, second!) that it happened! God knows how long it had been like it!! Certainly as a potential customer, that would have me walking to the exit immediately!
